Pearlite Grey Castings Parts

Pearlite Grey Castings Parts combine the excellent casting properties of gray cast iron and the high strength characteristics of pearlite. It is widely used in machinery manufacturing, automobile industry, engineering equipment, pipeline systems and other fields. The product surface has a typical gray-black metallic luster, with excellent wear resistance, shock absorption, thermal conductivity and economy. It is an ideal choice for structural parts under medium and high load conditions.

Material properties

The matrix structure of pearlite gray casting is composed of lamellar pearlite (alternating lamellar structure of ferrite and cementite) and uniformly distributed flake graphite. This structure gives the material the following characteristics:

• High strength and hardness: The lamellar structure of pearlite significantly improves the material strength by hindering dislocation movement, and the hardness can reach HB 180-250.
• Excellent wear resistance: The synergistic effect of pearlite matrix and graphite reduces the friction coefficient and extends the service life of components.
• Good shock absorption performance: Flake graphite can absorb vibration energy and reduce mechanical operation noise.
• Thermal conductivity: The continuous distribution of graphite improves the efficiency of thermal conduction and is suitable for high temperature environments.

Chemical composition

Typical components are: carbon (C: 2.8%-3.6%), silicon (Si: 1.5%-2.5%), manganese (Mn: 0.5%-1.2%), phosphorus (P < 0.15%), sulfur (S < 0.12%). The performance can be further optimized by adjusting the element ratio and adding trace alloys (such as chromium and copper).
